It’s Hen Party planning time and we know you want to organise the most amazing Weekend for your bride, to make her feel super special.
If you haven’t already set your heart on Brighton as the best destination for an unforgettable Hen Weekend, look no further. Our five hottest tips for things to do in Brighton will give you all the inspiration you’ll need to finalise that Hen Party planning.
I love the beach and Brighton makes for the perfect location to bring you that Summer Holiday feeling in the UK. Combined with the awesome vibe the City offers, it makes for an amazing destination for any Hen Party. Enough preamble, let me share our Top Tips with you.
Brighton Bike Tours
The best thing to get to know a city is always a city tour. But why not mix it up and go for a relaxed cycling tour to explore Brighton - on top of discovering all about the City you also get the endorphins and fresh air from the outdoor exercise PLUS the Vitamin D from the sunshine (even if it’s hidden behind the inevitable cloud or two!)? There is certainly no better place to do this than Brighton Bike Tours at The Jolly Explorer.
What they do
Carlo runs Brighton Bike Tours at the Jolly Explorer and he’s your guide of dreams. He’s been in Brighton for 20 years and has a lot of the city's history and culture to share, along with a plethora of Brighton related anecdotes. He’s like a hysterical historian on wheels! What makes the Bike Tour with Carlo unique is the fact that he really wants to make sure you have the best time, so he’ll tailor the tour to your needs. He’ll ask you a bunch of questions beforehand to ensure he knows what you want to get out of the tour and is skilled at reading the group on the tour to flex the experience to match the group! It can range from a Pub Crawl on bicycles (from now on to be known as a Beercycle) to a history tour of Brighton, the choice is yours!
Great for hen party bonding and for any explorers who love to feel the wind in their hair
£25 pp for groups of <10, £22.50 for groups >11, 15 people max. £100 deposit on booking and balance to be paid 2 days before the tour.
The tour is a great kick-off to any Hen Weekend and offers a fantastic opportunity for people to get to know each other better. Carlo has locker storage so you can jump straight off the train, plane or automobile and get straight into the tour. Awesome! Believe it or not, Carlo is also a fully qualified photographer so you are guaranteed to get some great photos to remember the day!
Good to know
The tour lasts around 2.5 hours and you’ll cover a distance of around 8 miles. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be Bradley Wiggins to enjoy this bike ride - the pace is gentle and there is a stop for about 20 mins in the middle of the tour at a lovely beach front café! What more can you ask for?
Brighton Cookery School
Another local gem not to be missed when it comes to ideas for hen parties is the Brighton Cookery School. Ben, the owner of the business, is a highly experienced chef. Trained in France, you can be certain that he more than knows his stuff. I mean, the guy assesses the competence of highly-trained chefs, he’s that good! On top of this, he’s also a trained forager (how cool is that? I didn’t even know this was a thing) and offers foraging classes. I appreciate this might not be a hen party activity, but it’s a cool fun fact to revisit in the future!
What they do
The motto of Brighton Cookery School is “Learn, Cook, Eat”. There are several different classes they offer for Hen Parties so make sure to check out their website. The two we want to highlight though are a package where you’ll create a three-course meal as a group to then eat your creations together afterwards. You’ll learn all of the tricks of the trade and have a three-course meal that you and the bridal party won’t believe you’ve been able to create (Yum!) The most popular offer however is the Brighton Bake-off experience (yes, you heard me right!). Who hasn’t dreamed of being a part of the Great British Bake Off?
Everyone who wants to channel their inner Mary Berry, baking skills or not.
£80 per person for the bake-off experience. £20 deposit to be paid on booking with the final balance due 4 weeks beforehand.
Everyone gets their own baking station in true bake-off style. Once the cakes are in the oven professional chefs will cook a meal for you which you’ll then eat before putting the final touches on your cakes. The Cookery School caters for allergies, as well as, Vegans or Vegetarians, just let them know in advance.
Good to know
The sessions last around 3 hours. You can have drinks while you bake/cook, most packages include bubbles and canapes on arrival and you’re guaranteed to have a great time. Ben is a fantastic host who will make sure you’ll have an unforgettable experience and permanent smile. Your cakes will be judged by professional chefs to make for a true bake-off experience. Ready, set, bake!

Lucky Voice has state of the art technology and offers over 10,000 different songs, all branded and of high quality (no pixelated 1980s images with jittery bouncing balls telling you when to sing!). You can completely self-serve on the machines and line up your favourite bangers. They also offer a bottomless karaoke brunch consisting of bottomless cocktails in their downstairs cocktail bar, with a DJ, glitter artist and games host, followed by one hour in the karaoke booth afterwards. Why not supercharge the experience by adding a cocktail-making class to your Lucky Voice fun and games?
Lucky Voice offer three different packages:
- a 1-hour cocktail-making class is £40
- a 1-hour cocktail-making class + 1 hour in a Karaoke booth is £45
- or push the boat out with a 90 minute cocktail-making class, 1 hour in a karaoke booth and pizza for £50.
The booths also have a “thirsty button” making it easy for you to order drinks and snacks. Each booth contains a box with fun stuff to dress up such as wigs, glasses, blow up guitars etc.
There is a photo booth in every location so you can take some snaps to remember the day. The Brighton venue has an outdoor bar to have drinks before and after your session, and we all know that the more you drink, the better you can sing (proven fact*).

We believe that any good Hen Weekend needs a sweet touch. My Chocolate is the perfect destination to round up the hen party of dreams. Hannah, a mad chocolate lover, set up the business 18 years ago and they now have three locations in London, Brighton and Manchester.
What they do
In Brighton, Hannah and her team offer “The Domestic Goddess” workshop as part of their Hen Party offering. Think Juliet Binoche wowing Johnny Depp in ‘Chocolat’, whipping up truffles and creamy ganache. Chocolate heaven with a liberal sprinkling of strawberry curls, white chocolate flakes, chocolate fudge, giant fluffy marshmallows and melted chocolate.
Chocolate aficionados of all ages
£40 per person. 50% deposit and the remainder paid four weeks in advance.
All sessions are held by professional chocolatiers, who will entertain you with the magical legends of cocoa, as you experience the taste of 100% pure chocolate and crushed cocoa beans. You’ll discover why some chocolate tastes so very delicious… and why some just aren’t worth the calories!
Everyone will create approximately fifteen mouthwatering handmade chocolates plus a giant chocolate button to each take home in ribbon-tied goody bags.
Good to know
The experience offered by My Chocolate is very high end. This unique hen party activity is perfect for groups that don’t know each other well, with oodles of chocolate making, tasting, a goody bag for the hen and copious amounts of chocolate to take home.
If you prefer, they can come and hold the Chocolate making Workshop at a venue of your choice if you’ve hired a place for the bridal party. Workshops at their venue run at the same time as other groups (you will of course be seated together!) which makes for a great atmosphere in the room and can be less intimidating for some groups.
The sessions last two hours and are held at 11 am or 3 pm in Brighton.
With a bag full of chocolate goodies it's guaranteed that everyone will leave this Hen Party with a massive smile on their face. You will have created memories that last a lifetime.
Hot Fox Pottery

Whether revealing the hidden body parts that few get to see, or putting an ear on a butter dish, Hot Fox Pottery ceramics are all unique and designed to be beautiful pieces of art that you can use every day.
Join her in her beautiful Brighton studio for a 2-hour session of Booby trinket pot and Booby & Bum chopstick holders and celebrate your Hen Party with fun, laughter and acceptance!
A giddy bunch of hens looking to have a blast with each other whilst making really unique pieces that will forever commemorate a Hen Party to remember!
£38 per head - including a glass of bubbly!
For groups of more than 8, Alice can come to you (if you are in the Brighton & Hove area) or can suggest suitable venues for your session. She can also treavel further afield but please note that travel time will be added to the overall price.
Good to know
Each person can expect to make 2 to 3 pieces in the session which Alice will then fire and glaze for you. They can then either be collected (good excuse for a wine or two nearby?), or posted to you. I personally hope that they are wrapped individually so your postie has to knock on your door with a phallus wrapped in brown paper!!!!
