Stag Do Ideas for When You’re the Last to Get Hitched

Being the last of your mates in your group to get married (or having a second crack at it) means you’ve all likely been there, done that, got the t-shirt and probably have a kid or two. So to make your do one to remember, you need to pull all the stops out!
How do you persuade your old pals from uni to get a weekend pass to celebrate your final days as a bachelor? We asked Matt Mavir, Founder of Stag and Hen Do supplier Last Night of Freedom.
“In many major destinations, there are hundreds of group activities you’ve never heard of that are perfect for stags - and some of them are absolutely bonkers."
Around 250,000 couples tie the knot in the UK each year, with an estimated 6 million Brits embarking on a stag or hen weekend. That means there’s plenty of demand for true once in a lifetime experiences - and these are some of the most original (and craziest) activities to try on a stag do this summer.
Unique Stag ideas
Husky Sledding in Tallinn
Swap the sun for some snow as you and your squad descend on the Estonian capital to be pulled through sub-zero conditions by a pack of rather cute huskies. The pack of dogs drag you along the snow for an unforgettable 15-minute sled ride through the Estonian forest. This looks great on the ‘gram’, but just remember to wrap up warm – the Baltics are, well, pretty baltic.
Jet Fighter Flight in Prague
A pilot will take you thousands of feet up for a 15-minute flight over the Czech capital in a second-generation Aero L-39 Albatross. If all the Top Gun lingo leaves you a bit goosed, let us just say this – the jet is ridiculously fast. A once-in-a-lifetime experience that is guaranteed to leave you walking on air.
Re-enact the Italian Job in London
Forget go-karting – this is the driving experience every stag should try. Rather than 80hp karts, groups are instead chauffeured in vintage Mini Coopers through the streets of London as they recreate scenes from the class Michael Caine crime caper. Participants are suited up in boiler suits, as they take part in an exciting race around the capital with a bottle of bubbly for the winner.
BBQ boat party and flyboarding in Barcelona
Beaches and incredible architecture give way to becoming a cross between Iron Man and James Bond as you tackle flyboarding, then enjoy a barbecue on a double-floored catamaran, including a 1 hour swim stop in the beautiful waters of the Mediterranean!
North Pole Stag Do
Is cost no object? Like £24,999 each no object? If so then here’s the experience no-one is ever forgetting (as they pay for it for years to come!!!!)
Hailed as 'the last true wilderness on Earth', the North Pole is one of the most remarkable and untouched places on earth. From ski trekking to helicopter rides to champagne and caviar, this location is as extravagant as it is hardcore.
Surely one of these will jolt your nearest and dearest into leaving behind their 9-5s and families for a weekend they’ll never forget/struggle to remember in full?
Remember these key elements for arranging the stag do:
- Attendees; who is going and how can you contact them?
- Vibe; be very clear on what kind of do you/the stag is after
- When; trying to find a date everyone can do is a nightmare. We’d recommend prioritising the dates of the key players to ensure they are there, then let everyone else hopefully remove their blockers!
- Money; use Collctiv! There’ll be deposits, final balances, people paying in part, others paying in full. Keep it simple - create a pot for each element and see who’s paid in, when and how much.
