Job Description
The Head of Finance will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for providing strategic financial direction and oversight. This role demands a highly qualified and experienced finance professional with a strong understanding of financial management, reporting, and compliance. The successful candidate will lead the finance function, ensuring financial stability and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives;
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and senior management team;
- Identify capital requirements for growth;
- Lead on and prepare financial models for fundraising activities;
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and analysis activities;
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements;
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP) and regulatory requirements;
- Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies;
- Manage tax planning and compliance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budget planning process and ongoing forecasting activities;
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis;
- Implement effective cost control measures.
- Financial Management:
- Manage cash flow and working capital;
- Oversee financial systems and processes, driving continuous improvement;
- Provide financial support for strategic initiatives, including potential mergers and acquisitions.
Skills - Essential

However, whilst we believe great people can come from a variety of backgrounds, this key role in a highly regulated field requires specific expertise. We're looking for:
- A fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA or ACCA);
- Significant (2 years+) post-qualification experience in a senior finance role;
Skills - Desirable
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulations;
- Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies;
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
- Strong leadership and team management abilities;
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills;
- Advanced knowledge of financial software and ERP systems;
- Strong understanding of tax regulations and risk management.
Location
Collctiv implements a mixed work from home / office approach.
Ideally you will spend at least 1 day a week per week in our Stockport HQ BUT if this is a dealbreaker then it can also be fully remote. If you are the right person, we are happy to compromise on this :-)
We will provide you with any equipment you may need to do your job from home.
We also have an unlimited holiday policy, so you can take the time you need to do your thing outside of work.
Salary
Up to £66,000 + unlimited holidays + options scheme
