Every friendship group, sports team and family has one: the person who books the table, buys the present and sorts the holiday. Then they spend the next three weeks chasing everyone for the money.We're not ok with that.
So we built Collctiv. Set up a pot, share one link, and let the money come to you.
When a colleague announced they were expecting, Amy Newford (now our CEO) got her co-workers to chip in £100 for a gift. She bought the present. Then she tried to collect the money. She got £20, and £10 of it was hers.
Amy had been left out of pocket plenty of times before, and she'd had enough. She roped in her co-worker Pete Casson and they went looking for an app that made collecting money from a group easy. There wasn't one, so they built it… And Collctiv was born in December 2019.
Put Organisers first. If it doesn't help make an Organiser's life easier, it's not for us.
Keep it simple. Life's complex. It doesn't always need to be. For our customers or for our team.
Be transparent. People are adults (unless they're kids...). We treat each other and our customers like adults.
Experiment. We love ideas, however random. We balance creativity with scientific rigour.
Be a decent person. Quite self-explanatory...
We don't do this for the trophies, but it's nice when people notice.
