Since launching in the UK in 2019, we have processed over £7million in group payments, in 42 currencies across 55 different countries. Over 200,000 users have discovered the simplicity of using our app to make plans, collect money and make purchases/bookings in over 1,100 cities around the world. As of February 2022, Collctiv is being used in 10,000 companies, 58 UK government agencies, 136 UK councils, 62 NHS trusts, 118 schools and 156 universities.

Job Description

As the figurehead of the HR and Talent operation, you will be responsible for overseeing the attraction, assessment, onboarding and ongoing engagement of a rapidly growing team. You will be passionate about Diversity and Inclusion and be able to ensure that we are appealing to the broadest range of candidates to come and join our journey.

With the support of cross-functional leaders, your job will be to protect and promote the culture of the Collctiv team whilst delivering the key to our ongoing success - our people! 

Initially you will be predominantly focused on supporting the expansion of the team, following this with a true commitment to successful onboarding to ensure that each individual is provided with everything they need to be the best version of themselves.

With the initial scale-up growth secured, you will be tasked with helping to cultivate the skills within the team and ensuring that HR requirements are delivered to secure both compliance and the highest levels of team satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment, selection and ongoing support of all employees;
  • Employee engagement, learning and development, rewards and benefits; 
  • Organisational development to help the company and its people develop and grow;
  • Manage external recruitment and the KPIs surrounding this; 
  • Managing time away from Collctiv both planned and unplanned;
  • Ensure compliant ways of working utilising strong relationships with the legal department;
  • Help to define the company’s people-related processes and culture;
  • Support the company’s employees with challenges that relate to their welfare and employment with the business;
  • Maintain all talent requirements for the organisation
  • Ensure the consistent and accurate delivery of the recruitment process 
  • Build an efficient network of talent and develop various strategies for finding and attracting the best talent
  • Prepare required training programs to achieve all development objectives.
  • Maintain efficient electronic records for all team members
  • Prepare reports outline the key measurable outputs pertaining to the team across the business 
  • Maintain all job descriptions and interview tools

Skills - Desirable

  • A knowledge of HR requirements on a functional and legal level; 
  • Experiencing working in a consumer-facing (D2C) or tech startup environment;
  • Change management experience; 
  • Data analytics skills; 
  • Commercial awareness; 
  • Experience in recruiting a team, preferably in a high volume environment; 
  • Well organised with a commitment to process; 
  • Ability to engage with individuals at all levels.


For the foreseeable future Collctiv will be implementing a hybrid mix of work from home / office approach. This role is predominantly based at home, with some time spent in the office in Manchester (if this is applicable). Home working is nothing new to us and Collctiv was created with flexible working in mind. We will provide you with any equipment you may need to do your job. We also have an unlimited holiday policy, so you can take the time you need to do your thing outside of work.
